To keep your readers interested, it’s important to mix things up on your blog. In additional to text and photos, videos are a great way to add some excitement to your blog. It can be your own video or one that you’ve found on the Internet. YouTube is a fabulous place to find videos on just about any topic. Today, I’ve chosen to share with you a YouTube video on How to Embed YouTube videos in your WordPress Blog.

The key points are:

1. Find a YouTube Video you’d like to embed in your blog article
2. Click on the button and copy the code to embed in WordPress
3. Edit your page in WordPress, making sure you have the HTML tab active and not the Visual Tab
4. Paste the code into your WordPress Post and Publish it

It’s a given that interactive media – especially video – engages visitors to your website and helps you convert them to leads and customers. But you may be stuck on exactly what kind of video to make. To help you get unstuck, here are three kinds of video you might make for your website:

1. If you give presentations and seminars, videotape one and then extract clips to post as short videos (2-3 minutes). This is a great way to create several video assets at one time, but it’s very important to note that these videos must present information that visitors to your website will care about.

This means you should not be talking about your company – that would be a commercial, and viewers hate commercials. Talk instead about how visitors can solve their problems.

2. Invite a satisfied customer or two to do a video testimonial. Have them come to your office, and videotape them as they talk in detail about their problem, and how your product or service solved that problem. Also ask them to talk about what’s special about your company. Edit your raw video into a short, to-the-point testimonial that captures the essence of why they chose you.

3. Give information away. People who come to your website are looking for information about your product or service because they have a need. Help them understand exactly how your product or service works, and why you’re different. This is a great video for your website’s front page.

Once you’ve created your videos, embed them on appropriate pages on your website. You can and should also embed video in your blog. Just make sure that when you do, you also capture main points and keywords in text (because search engines can’t yet index video).
